Stéphanie Jumel has a phD in Materials Science and is a researcher at EDF-Research and Development. She started her carreer as a researcher in materials science by studying irradiation effects in nuclear power station materials. Then, she moved to energy efficiency by setting up a research group on energy planning for communities at the European Institute for Energy Research (EIfER) in Karlsruhe – Germany. At that time, she published a book on the history of Sustainable Development.
She is currently leading a project on energy efficiency for industry at EDF, which supports the development of models and tools for optimising energy consumption and CO2 emission of industrial plants. Stéphanie Jumel is also teaching materials science at University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris) and co-founded Global-Vision-Council, a start-up supporting innovation in SMEs.
