François Xavier Rongère is currently managing R&D and Innovation for PG&E Gas Operations. In this role, he is responsible for the detection, assessment, adaptation and introduction of new technologies in the Line of Business. He has previously been in PG&E Energy Efficiency department for 6 years in different roles covering a broad range of responsibilities from Emerging Technology detection and assessment to Product Development, Program Management and Customer Services to the HighTech, BioTech and Healthcare sectors. Before joining PG&E, François held technical and management positions at the R&D Division of Electricite de France (EDF, a French utility) where he developed innovative products for a variety of applications. In 2000, he established Easenergy Inc., EDF’s venture organization in the USA detecting and partnering with start-up companies of the energy sector. Besides, he created a class about Alternative Energy Sources and a Master curriculum on Solar Energy Technology at San Jose State University. He is a graduate of the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble in France.
