Peter Therkelsen, Research Scientist – Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

Dr. Peter Therkelsen is a Research Scientist in the Environmental Energy Technologies Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His work focuses on industrial energy performance and management as well as the development and deployment of responsible energy efficiency and generation technologies. In this role he actively studies barriers to the implementation of industrial energy efficiency measures, supports the implementation of energy management systems in the United States, and serves as a delegate of the United States at International Standards Organization meetings for energy management and savings. Dr. Therkelsen conducts data driven analysis of energy management systems with a current focus on the costs and benefits of certification to the U.S. DOE Superior Energy Performance program. In addition, Dr. Therkelsen is head of the LBNL Combustion Laboratory where he studies and develops high efficiency, fuel flexible, and low emission installed and portable heat and power systems.
